I received the following notice via the FICINO email distribution list:
Quote:
Walter M. Gordon died yesterday, March 27, 2009. He taught for many years at
the University of Georgia, where he gave courses in humanism, particularly
Erasmus and Thomas More, and in Shakespeare. His book Humanist Play and Belief:
The Seriocomic Art of Desiderius Erasmus appeared in 1990 from the University of
Toronto Press, and he published articles regularly on More. Earlier this year
he published Anniversaries and Afterimages, a book of poems written to his wife
Marjorie.
