Continuing Importance of Non-Digital Collections
03.07.2009 at 14:14:15

I received the following announcement via H-HISTBIBL:
Quote:
Subject: The Continue Importance of Non-Digital Collections: RUSA HS &
ACRL RBMS Program @ ALA Annual Conference

Microform still matters! Print resources are pertinent!

Find out how to get this message across at "Unleashing the Undigitized:
Promoting and Accessing Traditional Historical Materials in the Age of
Google", a program co-sponsored by RUSA's History Section and ACRL's
Rare Books and Manuscripts Section at ALA's 2009 Annual Conference in
Chicago.

Digitization has made a vast amount of primary source material more
readily available than ever, and researchers increasingly assume that
everything they seek is available online.  At this program, a panel will
discuss how librarians, archivists, teachers, and vendors can promote
non-digital resources in the age of Google.

The program is free to all ALA Annual Conference participants, and will
be held Sunday, July 12, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
