UCL: Centre for Early Modern Exchanges
19.02.2010 at 15:57:37

Universtiy College London (UCL) is founding a Centre for Early Modern Exchanges .

The homepage is at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/eme/ . There you can read i.a.: Quote:
The Centre for Early Modern Exchanges is dedicated to the study of the diverse cultural, historical, economic and social exchanges between England and Europe, European countries, the Old World and the New in the period 1450-1800. The work of the Centre focuses on the complex intercultural interactions underlying the emergence of national identities and vernacular literatures in this period, interrogating labels such as ‘England’ or ‘Britain’, ‘East’ and ‘West’, the ‘New World’ and ‘Europe’.

The centre will be launched on 2010-04-29: see the announcement at http://lddurbin.tumblr.com/post/398615583/centre-for-early-modern-exchanges-laun ches-at .
