Position
Utrecht University is searching for a Professor of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy. The chair Ancient and Medieval Philosophy is part of the History of Philosophy section at the department of Philosophy and Religious studies. The focus of the chair is on Ancient philosophy. Research in Utrecht has a strong tradition in pre-Socratic philosophy, Aristotle and Aristotelian traditions in antiquity (with a special focus on the philosophy of nature), Hellenistic philosophy and the relationship between philosophy and the sciences in antiquity. The section’s research departs from a thorough basis in philology and has a strong track record in producing scholarly editions and translations of source texts. The chair holder will be given the opportunity to introduce his or her research agenda into to section’s  research programme. In teaching the chair will have to cover ancient and medieval philosophy.
The professor plays an important role in determining the profile of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy in  research and teaching. He/she is responsible for teaching courses on the history of philosophy on bachelor’s, master’s and research master’s level.
The candidate is expected to take on an active, leading and coordinating role within the History of Philosophy section and will work together intensively with colleagues within the  Philosophy programme, with colleagues in the wider department of Philosophy and Religious studies and with partners in interdisciplinary programmes. We expect active participation in research within the University’s focus area History and Philosophy of the Sciences and the Humanities or within one of the university’s other strategic themes or focus areas.

As of now: I don't perceive how this job add is related to "Renaissance Intellectual History" (i.e. the subject of this forum here).
