THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL MARGARET CAVENDISH CONFERENCE AND GENERAL
MEETING

"A female intellectual within her cultural milieu : Margaret Cavendish
(1623-1673) or the interior exile."

11-12 June 1999 (Guided tour to Versailles Palace on 13 June)

* Keynote speakers: David Norbrook and Elaine Hobby *

Papers will bear on various aspects of Cavendish's works and career, but
they can also focus more broadly:
- on her (and others') connections with the Royal Society
- on William Cavendish
- on Royalists in exile
- on women writing and reading in the 17th century
